Start Today: Your Future Self Will Thank You for Learning AI Now
By: Jon Dwoskin
Twenty Years From Now, You’ll Wish You Started Learning AI Today.
When I was about ten, my dad built our first Heathkit computer.
Everyone thought he was nuts.
“Marc, why would anyone need a computer?”
Later, he became the first dentist among his friends to buy a fax machine.
Same story — “No one’s ever going to fax you.”
But he did it anyway.
He saw what was coming.
Fast forward: AI is today’s Heathkit.
Some people fear it.
Others explore it, learn it, and win because of it.
In college, sending one email to my journalism professor felt like a big deal.
Two years after graduation, my brother, a friend, and I built and sold an internet company.
That was 1997 — when the world started moving fast.
Now, it’s moving at light speed.
Here’s the reality:
AI won’t put you out of business. People who use AI will.
So how do you stay ahead?
– Spend 5–15 minutes a day learning and experimenting with AI.
– Ask: Where can AI make me faster, sharper, more effective?
– Track time saved — 4 minutes a day = 24 hours a year.
– Turn learning AI into a daily habit.
Because every new technology looks confusing at first — until it becomes the norm.
And those who adapt early always lead the next wave.
As Henry Ford once said:
“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.”
Start today.
Open ChatGPT. Ask it one question about your business.
Then do it again tomorrow. The future isn’t waiting — neither should you.
